Nortel Ethernet Switch 470 is a stackable switch providing resistance, elasticity, convergence readiness and security. On top of these advantages, Ethernet Switch 470 includes two GBIC (Gigabit Interface Converter) ports, plus a stackable port in a compact 1 rack unit high design.
This switch developed by Nortel presents an ideal solution for mid size and large enterprises, since it offers Layer 2 switches designed to simplify network activities and helps keep costs down, especially Total Costs of Ownership. These switches have been especially designed to provide high-density desktop connectivity.
Ethernet Switch 470-PWR also provides high-density desktop connectivity through Power over Ethernet for IP connection of other applications, such as IP phones and wireless access points.

Nortel Ethernet Switch 470 is available in two models:
• Ethernet Switch 470-48T: This model provides configuration flexibility: ports 47 & 48 can be configured as 10/100 BASE-TX ports or make use of GBIC. Up to eight 470-48T switches can be stacked to obtain 384 10/100 ports for higher desktop density.
• Ethernet Switch 470-24T: This model allows simultaneous use of 26 ports. With BoSS, up to eight switches can be used with Ethernet Switch 470-24T and 470-48T on a single stack to provide maximum flexibility.
